John Rae

Art and architecture have gone side by side in John’s life.  He qualified as an architect and also as a town planner; worked on rebuilding Exeter and London; and won a competition for the redevelopment of Dumbarton.  His art concentrated on buildings, landscapes and abstraction.

Throughout the 60’s, he was Principal Lecturer at Hornsey College of Art and in the 70’s and 80’s became lecturer in architecture at University College London, together with worldwide visits including Italy and Nigeria.

In 1990, John moved from Hampstead to St Albans.
