Kay Stratford 2022

Kay studied Design and Ceramics and undertook a stonemasonry apprenticeship working at Canterbury Cathedral during her 10 year career. She later developed and refined her techniques for coiled ceramic vessels creating individual pieces that are sculptural and organic. . In doing so Kay is able to produce individual pieces that are both asymmetrical and elegantly sculptured. From her Kimpton workshop Kay has also discovered the ancient firing technique of raku. Wildlife captures Kay’s imagination leading to the making of ceramic and needle-felted animals.
