Andrew Keenleyside 2024

Andrew is a Painter (oils on canvas) and a Printmaker (etchings) who lives and works in Harpenden.

His main subject matter is the local landscape and the changing seasons. His work and his approach to painting have been influenced by a number of artists, such as Pissarro and Sisley in terms of their compositional themes, along with Mattise and the Fauves with the vivid and exciting use of colour. Andrew’s bold painterly approach is evident in the surface details of his canvases, he reflects that ‘I try to capture the essence of a landscape and the visual memory that it leaves behind’. He has had a series of one-man shows in London and the home counties, his work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London and is also represented in Private collections in the USA, the Far East and Europe.
