Clare Cammack 2026

Clare is a contemporary abstract painter living and working in Hertfordshire. Clare’s work is an emotional and intuitive response to the subject, usually the human form or historical architecture. She sees the painting as a journey developing organically, building layers, scraping, sanding and scratching back. This process reveals textures and marks from which abstract images emerge, often vague and unexpected sometimes with more definition, leaving the viewer to explore and importantly letting them interpret what they see and decide their personal narrative through the images.

Clare studied in Norfolk and Hertfordshire and lives and works in Hertfordshire and the Netherlands. She works intuitively, her works starting out from a visual response to the human figure, a form, a drawing, photograph or memory.
