Hazel is an award winning contemporary basket maker practising for over twenty years.

Initially a willow specialist, Hazel’s later work has broadened to focus on a wider selection of natural materials. She is particularly interested in exploring the potential for basketry related work to hold meaning arising from the use of site-specific materials.

Hazel teaches a range of basketry skills and approaches on her Contemporary Basketry short courses, and more traditional willow workshops. These are available at venues local to North Herts, and from her studio in Offley.

She graduated in 2004 with an Applied Arts degree and began working professionally in 2008. Hazel has exhibited work on a Gold Award winning stand at Chelsea Flower Show and made commissioned work in willow on all scales for a variety of clients. She exhibits and sells her work via art events, fairs, and from her studio.
